Tokyo 2020 – the most sustainable Olympic Games to date?
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games is set to be a showcase event, featuring the very best in innovation and technology, which is something host country Japan is renowned for.
In a bid to be more sustainable and give back to its country, Tokyo 2020 organisers have devised an interesting, and very clever campaign to reduce waste and recycle to create the coveted Olympic medals. The Tokyo Olympic Organising Committee (TOCOG) has asked local residents to donate old electronic devices, such as laptops, phones and computers. Gold, silver and bronze will be extracted from the devices to form part of the medals during the Olympic Games 2020.
This is just one of the many exciting innovations that Tokyo 2020 are bringing to the highly anticipated Games in Japan in the summer of 2020. Praised for industry-leading technology and metropolitan charm, Tokyo 2020 is set to be a revolutionary Games.
It’s not just the technology of Japan that is building the excitement. It’s the undisputed hospitality from residents, clean cities, scenic views and unparalleled experience that makes Tokyo such a unique destination that truly must be experienced to be understood.
